INTERNET DEVELOPER EXIT1, INC. ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF POWERUP.ORG

Reston, VA, Novemeber 24, 1999 - Exit1, Incorporated, an Internet technology solutions provider, has launched the PowerUP web site, the company's premier philanthropy effort to date. The newly designed site, www.powerup.org, will enable PowerUP to expand its reach and create additonal awareness for this new program.

PowerUP is comprised of more than a dozen nonprofit organizations, major corporations and federal agencies that have joined together to launch a major new multimillion dollar initiative to help ensure that America's underserved young people acquire the skills, experiences and resources they need to succeed in the digital age.

PowerUP is a unique partnership to give underserved youth access to technology and guidance on how to use it. Based in schools and community centers around the country, PowerUP not only will provide young people with access to the wide range of content and information on the Internet, it will also help them develop additional skills they need to succeed in the 21st century.

PowerUP will be able to scale quickly and reach thousands of young people because it will leverage partnerships with numerous public and private organizations, and build on thousands of exciting community centers, schools and other locations nationwide. PowerUP partners will provide technology, funding, trained personnel, in-kind support and other resources to help close the divide between young people who have access to computer-based information and technology-related skills and those who don't.

"The PowerUP web site is the key destination point for individuals, non-profits and corporations eager to contribute to the program as well as existing sites looking to embrace the PowerUP program," said Rae Grad, CEO of PowerUP. "Exit1 provided outstanding service under tight deadlines in order to build the PowerUP web site."

Created as a nonprofit organization, PowerUP is guided by a board of directors chaired by Steve Case, Chairman and CEO, America Online and includes: Erskine Bowles, partner at Forstmann Little and former White House chief of staff; Jean Case, President of the Case Foundation; Carly Fiorina, President and CEO of Hewlett-Packard; Jack Kemp, Co-Director of Empower America; David Mercer, National Executive Director of YMCA; former US Senator Sam Nunn; Leon Panetta, Director of the Panetta Institute and former Director of OMB and White House chief of staff; General Colin Powell, Chairman of America's Promise; Franklin Raines, Chairman and CEO of Fannie Mae; and Roger Staubach, Chairman and CEO, The Staubach Company; and Ted Waitt, Chairman and CEO, Gateway.
